A typed letter from Roger Knoebber (Paris) to the Director General of the Institut du Monde Arabe (Paris), dated 9 February 1993. This is hand-annotated by Roger Knoebber, and is typed on the back of a scrap sheet of paper from a comb-bound book. On the verso is a handwritten note in black and red ink to Anne [Goyal].

The letter notes that Bachir Attar of the Master Musicians of Jajouka invited him to the Aid-el-Kebir event, which he plans to attend between 25 May and 4 June 1993. Roger expresses his wish to record and write about the event and hopes the Institut du Monde Arabe can help with funding and support. 

The handwritten note to Anne [Goyal] on the verso states: "Will return tape recorder Sunday 9 February if convenient for you." in black ink on top, and then, in red ink:

"Dear Anne,
    If you would translate these letters into French, I would be most, most appreciative. I'm reluctant to make further invasions on your time; but you are close and can re-write the letters in a presentable fashion. Feel free to make any adjustments or corrections necessary, — I trust your judgement [sic] completely. If you would send me the photographer's phone #, I will contact him, otherwise, he should send me a P.C. for R.D.V. The sooner, the better, so we can make scheduling plans, etc. Several other photographers are available — my preference is for one who has good contacts with the French Press — ACTUEL, for example, or any travel publication.
Thanking you in advance, dear friend [drawing]"
